Be a team player. MMORPG’s are very much alike any team sport. You need to be able to take directions from people more experienced than you.
The flip side of the coin is that you’ll soon enough be doing the same to beginners, and you must be able to do that and do it without an attitude. The concept of the team in sports, or other areas, is that the goal is for the team to win, and sometimes that necessitates making sacrifices for the good of the team. The unwillingness to do things like that will not put you in good stead with others. Try to keep the team’s best interest and enjoyment as your priority.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. In the beginning, having to play with the keyboard shorts plus a new left-handed mouse can be a pain and awkward. If you can find one, ask someone else who is left-handed for any tips or pointers. Always ask for helpful tricks or hints from the people you play against. You’ll find that people love offering their “expert” advice and helping other people. If you become good, then the situation will be reversed and you will be called upon to help others.
Online gaming was created to be fun and enjoyable. This is what most game creators have in mind when they are building these complicated universes.
